Dr. Jorge Mejía Cañas - Cirujano Plástico

Three weeks ago I had a breast lift without implants and posterior liposculpture with Dr Mejia. I live in Southern California and with the ridiculously high prices for plastic surgery here I decided to do it in Medellin. After very extensive research I decided to go with Dr Mejia and I could not be happier with my choice. The results have already surpassed my expectations and I know it’s going to get even better. Dr Mejia is very thorough, patient, professional and kind. His surgical capabilities and results are outstanding. To make things even better, his assistant Yuliana is fantastic. She is very competent and very quick to reply to all requests. They make a dynamic duo. THANK YOU BOTH for making this such a positive experience with great results.

I am not a patient of Dr. Mejia yet but I was able to meet him and see his work first hand. My sister came to him for a couple procedures and the level of care she received was incredible. The doctor is phenomenal and so knowledgeable. The level of care that he gives to his patients are life changing. He genuinely cares for his patients and it shows. His office staff is professional and so caring too. They are thorough with every detail and make sure you are prepared for everything. You are not just a number here, you are a human being and they care so much about every patient. My sister did a lot of research and got quotes from several doctors everywhere, but she picked the best one without a doubt! I highly recommend him to anyone looking to change their lives. We came all the way from Las Vegas to see him and have had the absolute best experience with him.

After losing a lot of weight, I needed a tummy tuck. Dr. Mejía performed my surgery and I couldn’t be happier. He was extremely professional throughout the entire procedure. He explained (in English for me) how everything was going to work, the exact costs including his fee, the hospital’s fees, and all the other ancillary fees. Because I was in Colombia alone, he helped me find a wonderful nurse to assist me during the recovery phase. His office staff was wonderful. I am very happy with the process and of course the results. I highly recommend Medellin, Colombia as a place to get surgery and Dr Mejía as an outstanding surgeon.

Surgery : Lipo / Abdomnoplastia Dec 2025 I had a consultation with Dr. Mejia after i went somewhere else and booked a surgery elsewhere but didnt feel comfortable going forward with them. I got to the office and had my consultation. Now, I can speak spanish at about 75/80 % but upon arrival in conversation with the doctor i learned he can speak english and his english isnt basic. He can speak french also which i dont. Anyway, if you are from an english speaking country I can confirm you will be comfortable with his english. I liked my interaction , he explained everything. I booked my surgery. Simple. The Surgery I had my surgery without complications. However, in the evening a few hours after my surgery my right side began to swell. The Nurses at Tesoro Quirafano (excellent place) saw it and sent a photo to Dr. Mejia right away. He said it looked bad. mind you, it was probably about 8/9 pm at night. My Doctor came back to the hospital within the hour! by the time he got there the swelling subsided, but in an abundance of cuation he still brought me back downstairs and reveiwed to make sure everything was superb (which it was/is). That act of professionalism was extremly reasurring. The thing is, the surgery was quick and relatively painless, the journey truly begins after the surgery has concluded. Im two months in and for the first 2 months I had visits with my doctor every 7 days. he is knowledgable , reliable and curteous. I am recovering with virtually no issues. Grateful for Dr Mejia and Yuli (his assistant)! Things you should know -First 7-14 days after surgery you may find it harder to poop -First 7-14 days after surgery you may find it harder to walk upright - First 7-14 days after surgery you may want to have some sort of assistance handy for daily tasks - if you can stay in Medellin 2-4 weeks, it is best so you can have your follow up appointments and get a prescription for any medicine if needed (it is included in your fee) PS I would do it again if i someone asked me. No Regrets!

Don't even question it or look further this is definitely the plastic surgeon that you need. Let me tell you that working in IT I researched many many doctors in many different countries. From start to finish his team has always been responsive and quick to answer any of my questions. I just had surgery with him and I could not be more happier with my results and the aftercare that is given to me. Thank you doctor for changing my life!!!
