One and a Half Year Later – Honest Review I would NOT recommend this surgeon! My initial review was written shortly after the surgery in a state of excitement, when everything looked great. Unfortunately, that didn’t last. A year and a half later, things have changed significantly. The scars have worsened, I’ve lost sensation in my nipples, and the incision around the areola is noticeably uneven. I honestly thought time would improve things, but the opposite has happened. The round, beautiful shape I initially saw was mostly due to swelling. Once that went down, so did the appearance. It became clear that the results were not what I had hoped for. I now understand why they require you to sign a waiver releasing them from responsibility for poor outcomes. I had watched on YouTube that surgeons use a round cookie-cutter-like tool to make the areola perfectly round and even. But Dr. Perea doesn’t seem to be familiar with that basic, simple tool! When I voiced my concerns to the surgeon, the response was simply, “These are normal complications. There’s nothing we can do.” But what exactly is “normal”? Uneven results, poor scarring, and permanent changes I never agreed to? Now I have to find an expert to fix the mess he left behind! Unlike my first review where I recommended him and was influenced by pictures/videos on their social accounts, (I even recomended him to my friends but then warned them about the possible diasappointing outcome), I now feel this was a big mistake. I would not recommend this surgeon. I strongly suggest investing in an expert who delivers clean, consistent, and lasting results. A surgeon who practices the most up-to-date methods, takes responsibility and stands by their work. I truly wish I could share photos to show how disappointing the outcome has been.
