I had the opportunity to spend two days observing Dr. Charão performing body contouring surgery in Rio de Janeiro and it was a great experience. His surgical technique is excellent, and his dedication and attention to detail are truly impressive. I had the privilege of accompanying Dr. Alexandre Charão and his team in surgery at Glória D’Or Hospital for ~2.5 months, and I left truly impressed by the quality of care and teaching culture I witnessed every day. Dr. Charão is not only a skilled plastic surgeon—precise marking, thoughtful planning, and meticulous hemostasis—but also an exceptional educator who explains the “why” behind each step. I observed a wide range of procedures (mastopexy, augmentation, reduction, lipo-abdominoplasty, gynecomastia, hernia repair adjuncts) performed with evidence-based techniques like argo-plasma heating, liposuction, judicious fat grafting, and case-by-case decisions about submuscular vs. subglandular implants. No matter the type of surgery, safety and comfort were always front and center: proper pre-op counseling, upright marking, anesthesia tailored to the patient (including regional techniques), careful use of drains when indicated, and clear post-op instructions or further steps. Equally impressive is the teamwork—nurses, assistant surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the communications team work in sync and treat patients with kindness and respect. If you’re looking for a surgeon who pairs excellent outcomes with clear communication and a calm, compassionate bedside manner, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Charão and his team. As a traveling student/medical researcher, I can whole heartedly say that Dr. Charão and his team are truly the full package.

Let me just say for a starter that Dr. Alexandre Charão is not just a surgeon he is a miracle worker. He delieverd on everything he promised me. The operation is still new but I can already see what it's going to turn out to be and I am really impressed. I am 61 years old and he brought back my body better that it was when was 40. The team is outstanding Claudia Caldas the physio, Jessica Santos the nurse, Caroline at the clinic, all professional, all available and most of all full of empathy.
