I missed my first surgery because two days before I ended up in the emergency room and on antibiotics was told something could possibly wrong with my lungs. A couple weeks later when the second surgery was scheduled I got sick again and again put on antibiotics and was constantly coughing and I could not breathe and again they would not have done the surgery and was sick for over 3 weeks. My regular doctor is sending a referral to a pulmonologist to address the issue. I made a third appointment and had something come up that I could still do the surgery but I just preferred not to and I simply called to ask them if they had any cancellations for a sooner appointment and told them if not I am fine with keeping my appointment as it is I just wanted to know if there were any sooner cancellations. There were no cancellations so I was then told I was required to come in for another appointment before my already scheduled surgery because the hospital requires people to be seen by the doctor a month before the surgery. The surgery was already planned and they knew when they scheduled it how long it had been since I saw Dr Lewis and they scheduled it without saying anything about needing to have another appointment before the surgery. So at the appointment I expressed I wasn't pleased with having to come in for another appointment because I simply called to see if they had any sooner cancellations and the only reason I missed the first two is because I was sick and on antibiotics and they would not have done the surgery with me on antibiotics anyway and that there might be something wrong with my lungs and Dr Lewis was dismissive, unsympathetic, unempathetic and didn't seem like he was really listening to anything I said was just trying to get me out the door and the surgery scheduled. There was absolutely nothing else that happened in that appointment that I was "required" to attend suddenly before my surgery except for Dr Lewis telling me if I missed another appointment I would be dismissed from their practice. So I scheduled another surgery. I wasn't sure when but I was supposed to be getting called for an epidural for my back and I left two different messages a week apart asking if it was okay to take the epidural before the surgery and if not how long before did I have to wait to do the surgery and never got a call back until finally the third time I had to call the week of the surgery to find out they had put that it was okay in the messages but I never got a call from anybody. The day before the surgery, which due to my car breaking down I have to get a ride from my dad who is in a wheelchair and can't walk through the hospital to sit and wait during surgery and we had to pick up my niece who did not have a driver's license but was going to sit and wait while I was in surgery, so the day before they called to see if I can come in at 5:30 in the morning instead of 7:30 in the morning and I told them I just couldn't do that because I had two other people to get involved and it was too short of an artist and it was too early for the other people I have to get involved and the nurse was supposed to call the hospital and find out schedules and call me back and that was 4 days ago. Apparently I must have been dismissed from their practice without any notice because it didn't take 4 days to find out the hospital schedule surgery before.
