I had a procedure done on my eyes yesterday and had a wonderful experience. I was called back quickly to start my procedure. When I was getting the IV I told the nurse that I always have a hard time with IV’s and blood draws because my veins are hard to find. The nurse who was looking for a vain immediately called the other nurse to do my IV because that nurse had a good record with finding veins. She got it the first time and with minimal pain. The doctor was very detailed about what to expect and the anesthesiologist was also personable and knowledgeable. All of the nurses were competent and friendly. I got a call the next day asking how I was doing. I’ve had other surgeries in different facilities and they didn’t come close to the amazing experience I had at this facility. The only complaint I have is that I knew I would have to pay my deductible but with procedures at other facilities they ran it through my insurance first and and then billed me what was not covered. They also allowed payment arrangements. This time I was called 3 days before my procedure that I would have to pay for the entire $2000 deductible plus 20% (had that up front too and they didn’t do payments). I don’t mind paying what I owe but would have preferred being informed of that when my procedure was scheduled a month ago. Had to scramble to get the money. This was partly my fault for not asking and my experience was so great I still give them 5 stars.

Today my husband had his surgery, we actually got our surgery moved up and only had to wait about an hour. They staff were really professional and kind, they made sure that we had everything we needed and let us stay with each other till he was due for surgery. My husband did really great and now we just recover and the team did a fantastic job.

I’ve been in twice in the last week for cataract surgeries. I was so pleased with everyone I had contact with from reception to recovery. They were all pleasant, kind, professional and helpful. They explained what was happening every step of the way. I also noticed how coworkers treated each other with kindness and respect. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience.

Had my colonoscopy recently and everything went well. I did have to wait a bit for my turn but after that it was smooth sailing. The nurses were all very attentive. The anesthesiologist verified any concerns and the doctor spoke to me before and after procedure. They also texted my ride several times so they knew everything was going well. Making the appointment was also easy and they were able to get me in quickly as they had a cancellation. The lady who did the scheduling was also very nice.

If ZERO STARS was an option I wouldn’t give even half a one. I had a horrible experience at this surgery center with my disabled child. It was painfully clear that the staff had absolutely no idea how to handle a child with special needs. My child was already anxious and vulnerable, and instead of showing patience, understanding, or any basic compassion, they treated him exactly the same as any other patient—ignoring his needs, his distress, and his limitations. The situation escalated to the point where he was extremely upset and overwhelmed, and no one seemed to care. There was no effort to calm him, no attempt to accommodate him, and no sign of training or awareness when it comes to caring for patients with disabilities. Watching my child be put through that kind of stress was heartbreaking and completely unacceptable. If you have a child or family member with special needs, I strongly recommend going somewhere else. This place is not equipped—emotionally or professionally—to handle patients who require even a little extra care or understanding. ***update*** since this we have been elsewhere and were treated extremely well the people elsewhere took his weight and height from me they were able to offer him an oral sedative and successfully use gas without any other anesthesia got the work done in under half an hour. Which again proves how totally incapable memorial surgery center is of even being able to care for those patients with disabilities.
