Beyond pleased with my experience here. From the front desk, to the MA, to the dermatologist himself. Daisy at the front desk was so sweet & I could not recommend Dr Blumenstrauch more. He is very knowledgeable, kind, he listens and is collaborative with care. The world really needs more doctors like him! I found him from reviews online and needed to do so myself because he is truly amazing. The only negative reviews I saw were wait times. I personally only waited a short time to be seen but having been to multiple dermatologists and getting sub par care at best, I would have waited hours to see Dr B knowing I am well cared for. He is well worth any wait! I am so happy to have found a dermatologist I trust! Thank you :)

The ability to schedule an appointment for the same day was not expected but I was accommodated. And I was treated promptly so I could begin my prescriptions.

This place used to be great until it went under Schweiger. Such a shame as the physicians and NPs are great. Karina Ritter is amazing, but now this place is poorly managed.

I am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent appointment with Dr. Julia Kwan at the Torrance Blvd office (4201 Torrance Blvd, Suite 640). May 28, 2026 I waited approximately 30 minutes before being seen. The consultation itself was quite brief, lasting less than 15 minutes. Dr. Kwan entered the room with an assistant and was wearing two surgical masks, which at times made it difficult for me to hear and understand her clearly. During the visit, I was examined for a pigmented spot on my lower lip. The doctor used a pressing technique on the lesion, temporarily lightening the pigmentation. She did say it was blood in the vein. She can't do anything about it. I asked whether the lesion was cancerous, and I was told it was not cancerous. I also asked whether I should follow up in the future, and was told that follow-up was optional and up to me. However, no further explanation was provided about the nature of the condition or why it may have occurred, and I did not receive any additional guidance or reassurance. That's suck! To my observation, she was there, but not really there with the patient. Before the doctor left the room, I asked one final question regarding whether she could recommend a lip balm with sun protection. Due to the masks, I had difficulty hearing the response clearly. I asked if the recommendation could be written down, and she asked her assistant to write it for me: “CeraVe Healing Ointment.” I went home and looked up the ointment, and it was not for the lip but for overall dry skin protection. She prescribed me something that has nothing to do with my lip; CeraVe healing ointment does not contain any Sun protection. (SPF) While I understand the condition may not require treatment, I left the appointment feeling uncertain due to the lack of explanation and limited opportunity for discussion. I also found it difficult to fully engage in the consultation due to communication barriers (i.e., the doctor wearing multiple surgical masks) during the visit. I am sharing this feedback about the medical diagnosis to highlight my experience as a patient. Please think twice before you see her. I don't think I was treated right as a patient. I felt so upset when I walked out of the clinic. I believe that clearer explanations and more patient communication would significantly improve understanding and reassurance.

If you are looking for compassionate dermatology care, I strongly suggest going somewhere else. My experience at Schweiger Dermatology Group with Julia Kwan and her team was extremely disappointing. The front desk staff did not greet or acknowledge patients, yet were quick to collect co-pays, which immediately set a cold and transactional tone. I also waited over 30 minutes past my appointment time only to have a rushed visit that lasted about 10 minutes. During intake, the assistant repeatedly responded to my medical concerns with “that’s going to cost you more,” instead of explaining the process or addressing what I was actually asking. It felt dismissive and uncomfortable. When Dr. Kwan entered, the appointment felt hurried and impersonal. My concerns were brushed aside, and I left feeling unheard, unsupported, and with absolutely zero resolution to the issues I came in for. Patients deserve clear communication, empathy, and professionalism, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously because the culture reflected during my visit needs significant improvement.
