I had an explant with capsulectomy and muscle repair. with Dr Pierce and couldn’t be happier with my experience. The procedure itself went extremely well, and I felt confident with his skill and care throughout the entire process. Choosing to undergo an explant surgery and finding the right doctor that you feel comfortable with can feel daunting. At least that’s how I felt. I had my silicone breast implants for over 17 years and decided I no longer wanted them, I was also experiencing symptoms of BII. I had a consultation with another AZ surgeon office and it did not go well. In my first meeting with Dr Pierce and Sarah, I knew that he was the right choice for me. Dr Pierce made me feel completely at ease. They were incredibly kind, truly listened to my story, my goals for the outcome of the surgery, and were very assuring and ready to answer any questions/concerns I had. I also loved that they had most of my questions already outlined in a Q& A section on their website. They made the entire process—from pre-op to my follow-up appointments—feel very personal and safe. They provided very detailed and clear pre-op and post op instructions and what to expect. The surgery went great. I am now 2 months post op, my recovery has been on par as described, and my incisions look very clean and are healing great. I had a handful of BII (Breast Implant Illness) symptoms going into this, four days post op, one of my significant digestive issues completely went away. After years of doctor’s visits, colonoscopy, blood works, tests, the issue is completely gone. I am overjoyed and wish I would have done this years ago. If you’re thinking of getting explanted, please do it. You will be glad you did.
