Dr. James P. Anthony, MD, FACS

I am deeply grateful to have found Dr. Anthony, whom my dermatologist recommended almost 25 years ago. Over the years I have had three major procedures with Dr. Anthony, two facelifts (23 years apart) and most recently a breast lift. Now in my seventies, I could not be happier with the results, and truly feel that I have been given a new lease on life. Dr. Anthony is a gifted surgeon with a keen eye, attention to detail, and a wonderful bedside manner. What sets Dr. Anthony apart is not just his incredible surgical skill, but the way he listens and cares for patients long-term. He always goes above and beyond to make sure that every concern is addressed. Before each surgery, he laid out a detailed plan and patiently answered all my questions. He has also offered invaluable guidance for my personal transformation journey and helped me to prioritize. Dr. Anthony’s PA, Alexa, and the administrative staff, Keara and Yasmin, are fantastic and have made me feel supported every step of the way. I would highly recommend Dr. Anthony to anyone considering plastic surgery.

Dr. Anthony's office is calm and professional, and his experience immediately puts you at ease. I interviewed four highly qualified surgeons... Dr. Anthony was right fit. I was recommended to Dr. James Anthony by my dermatologist at Kaiser. I met with him for a consultation and knew he was someone special! I remember thinking to myself, “this feels right”..the perfect mix of professionalism, superior knowledge with a warm, kind and patient bedside manner. Initially, I was looking for a plastic surgeon to remove a growth on my eyelid. After discussing my eye situation, I asked “so what would you do with my face at this time (if anything)?? He proceeded to analyze my face and tell me what he could do to refresh my appearance. After some deliberation with myself and my partner lol, I decided to do a deep plane facelift, upper/lower eye Blepharoplasty and liposuction on my waistline. It was important to me I work with a doctor who respects the natural anatomy of my face and body…someone who had experience working on men. I wanted to look refreshed…not like a different person or have that “surgery look”. At first my partner wasn’t on board, unable to look at things objectively…he was afraid I’d look like a different person and felt I didn’t need anything done. I called Dr. Anthony’s office and told Keara “I am having some trouble with my partner “. The next day Dr. Anthony himself called me and suggested we both come in for another consultation. He spent an hour or so with us discussing and illustrating what he planned to do for me, addressing any questions and concerns we both had. Through Dr. Anthony’s artistry and technique, I received exactly what I wanted. It has been about four months and it gets better looking and feeling every week. A shout out to his office staff who have been nothing short of stellar support during this whole process. The most important part of this process for me was finding the right doctor. After the consultation and extensive research, my gut told me it was Dr. Anthony…and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

Choosing a plastic surgeon is a massive decision, but from the moment I was referred and met Dr. James Anthony in person, I knew I was in expert hands. My goal wasn’t necessarily to look "younger," but rather to address the loose skin around my eyes, jowls, neck and chest that had begun to feel burdensome. Dr. Anthony is the definition of a professional. He is incredibly knowledgeable and ensured my expectations were grounded in reality. Beyond the work on my face and neck, he also performed a chest reduction. For years, I was incredibly self-conscious about the excess skin in my chest; now, for the first time, I feel confident wearing pullovers and fitted sports shirts without a second thought. His surgical skill is remarkable. I look like a refreshed, "cleaned up" version of myself, and the physical weight off my chest has been life-changing. The experience was further elevated by his staff, who were warm, professional, and genuinely attentive throughout the entire process. If you are looking for a surgeon who prioritizes natural-looking results and patient care, I cannot recommend Dr. Anthony highly enough. I am beyond happy with my transformation.

I had an initial consultation with Dr James Anthony for a facelift and blepharoplasty probably 2 years ago. I was initially impressed with his warm and engaging personality. I also met with Keara, the care coordinator, at that time. She is also a very caring and committed person. Dr Anthony is board-certified and has performed these procedures 2,500 times over decades. I figured he has seen all things than can possibly go wrong and managed them. That gave me confidence. While I was excited about the prospect of looking younger (I have experienced ageism in the workplace) I was a little anxious about a) the pain and recovery process and b) that I would not look like myself. I booked my surgery for September 26 and when the time came to get in the Uber and go the surgery center, I was overcome by anxiety and canceled. Dr Anthony didn't get angry. He told me it was Ok and to take a couple weeks to think about what I really wanted. I did and decided that I could not allow fear to stop me from doing what I wanted. I had to man up. I had a work project to complete so had to wait until January. We met again in his office along with Keara and Alexa (PA), both of whom are great at their jobs. We discussed any remaining concerns and the next week, I made it to the surgery center and had the procedures! Alexa took care of me during the night of my surgery and I felt privileged to have someone with her advanced medical training and calm bedside manner watch over me that night. The discomfort was not as bad as I had feared. I won't lie and say it was a cakewalk. The first couple of weeks challenged me. But now, 4 weeks from surgery, I am elated with the results and feeling physically comfortable. If you choose this path, based on my experience, you are in good hands; maybe, the BEST hands. Dr Anthony is very passionate about his field of work, was very patient with me, he is highly-experienced and seasoned and possesses artistic talent as well. My experience was first rate.
