Everyone was pleasant, helpful and professional from the front check in to the nurse and doctor. The amount of time from check in to check out was not bad at all.

I am beyond grateful for the exceptional care I received at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Calder and his entire team—especially P.A. McFarlane (always “Sinead” for me)—are incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly, both before and after my surgery, and always made me feel genuinely cared for. Their support didn’t stop at the office. Every message I sent through the patient portal was answered thoughtfully and within just a couple of hours, which gave me so much peace of mind throughout the process. I also want to acknowledge the administrative staff at the Plastic Surgery Office, who are consistently polite, helpful, and attentive to patients’ needs. I highly recommend Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and I want to emphasize how much I appreciate Dr. Calder’s outstanding professional expertise and his exceptional human qualities.

I have been seeing Dr Calder from plastics and reconstruction for 4 years now. He has been great. He has an amazing beside manor that really put me at ease while dealing with breast cancer. He is extremely knowledgeable in his craft and has continued to do a great job with my reconstruction. I always enjoy going into the office everyone is super friendly and caring.

I am under the care of Dr. Sylvester who is relatively new to AHWFB. I can’t say enough about how pleased I have been. Dr. Sylvester is kind, patient and always takes the time to insure you have all your questions answered. No arrogance with this fine Doctor!

Everything was exceptional, with two negative incidents. One: when I was under anesthesia, the person inserting the breathing tube broke my crown. I woke up enough at the time to realize that the tube was stuck on my lip. The person kept trying to force it. The following Monday, my head cleared enough to realize half my front crown was broken off! The other negative aspect was during my convalescence in the hospital overnight for a previous procedure, a man came into my room and convinced me to go home. It was recommended that I stay a few nights, but with the drugs in my system, I let this guy convince me to go home. I wish I’d followed up on reporting him. I’m on Medicaid and Medicare, and I believe he was trying to act like a DOGE agent. That’s my best guess as to why this unknown hospital staff would try to get a patient to leave.
