I have been to Dr. Sofonio twice with medical issues. The first time was in 2016 when I fell hiking and had a gash on my forehead. Knowing that I would need a plastic surgeon to repair the jagged gash, I started phoning plastic surgeons and no one would book an appointment. When I called Dr. Sofonia’s office, I was advised by his staff that he was on call with Eisenhower and I could be referred by emergency if I went there and asked. I ended waiting the whole afternoon in emergency and when I saw the emergency Dr. I received a very cursory examination. Once the referral was made to Dr. Sofonio I was driven to Dr. Sofonio’s office by golf cart. It was like night and day waiting in his office as opposed to emergency. I was the only one there at 5 pm and I was offered a blanket and cold drink. Dr. Sorfonio did a thorough examination and stitched my forehead. The wound healed well and is barely noticeable. This time, I went home to Canada to have Moh’s surgery for squamous cell carcinoma on January 17. I didn’t stay home and returned to Palm Desert. I needed someone to remove the stitches here.I had initially booked with Dr. Sofonio to have the stitches out on January 25 but canceled when my dermatologist said I needed them out yesterday. I had checked with Eisenhower urgent care in Rancho Mirage about whether that was a service they performed and was advised yes. However, when I went there yesterday 3 emergency drs. looked at my incision on my face (near my eye and nose) and I was told by all of them that it was too early to remove the stitches and it could open if they did so. One Dr. told me I had an infection and wanted to prescribe antibiotics. I had no symptoms of infections so I declined. In front of me the Drs. talked about how poorly the incision was stitched. It made me feel very stressed and I feel it was unprofessional. The one helpful thing they did was help me to get through to Dr. Sofonia’s office to rebook appointment. A compassionate wonderful woman with Dr. Sofonio office, Silvia, booked me an appointment for the next day. When I went to the appointment all the staff were welcoming, professional. Dr. Sofonio did an examination and Silvia removed the stitches. I was so relieved that there was no infection. Thank you so much to everyone. I would definitely return and recommend to my friends.

Jon Poling saw my wife today for lip fillers and this is her review When I arrived to my appointment I was greeted by their friendly front office staff. I filled out my paperwork and was immediately brought back by Jon Poling to get started. I have had fillers done in the past and am aware how uncomfortable the experience is. Jon has a gentle hand and works very quickly through it and tried hard to make it as comfortable as he could. The results were great! I'm very pleased with his work. He also informed me of some other procedures that I might consider in the future. I am now looking forward to a consultation with Dr. Sofonio.

After years of trying to find a great Dr for a reconstructive surgery as well as a BBL (I had lost 110lbs), I found Dr. Sofonio. He was very informative, professional and honest. I had the surgery and couldn't be happier. Results are exactly what I wanted. I wish I had found him a few years ago, so he could have done my tummy tuck. His staff is friendly and just as awesome. Highly recommend 👍🏻

My experience with dr Sofonio office! So pre COVID-19 fashion week! Having a good time at fashion week with my daughter.. we came across a raffle table for Eisenhower hospital selling tickets for some amazing stuff. So I bought twenty five dollars worth of tickets… too my surprise I won six facial to doctors Sofonio office! Omg!! I held on to the tickets for almost a year.. so I finally decided to take advantage of my wins. I call the office made an appointment. Walked in and was greeted with warmth, respect, kindness.. just lovely! Candy was the lovely lady that did my facial. Treated me with respect, kindness. They treated me like a paying guest. I will never forget the amazing treatment I got from this office.❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾

Unfortunately, my experience at Dr. Sofonio’s office was one of the most disappointing and unsettling I’ve had with any medical provider. I came to this office for Botox after a trusted therapist recommended one of the nurses. I’ve been getting Botox for nearly a decade and had consistently positive experiences with other providers. However, what happened here felt more like a sales funnel than a genuine medical consultation. From the beginning, I was underinjected—despite clearly explaining my typical dosage and treatment history. When I brought this up, the nurse dismissed my concerns and bizarrely insisted that Botox would never work for me unless I underwent eyelid surgery. This claim was not only medically unfounded (my regular dermatologist in Portland confirmed this), but it also felt like an aggressive upsell tactic. What made matters worse was what followed. After stating clearly that I was not interested in eyelid surgery and instead needed dental work, I received three unsolicited calls the next day from a dentist in Palm Desert—someone I had never met or contacted. The dentist directly stated they got my information from the nurse at Dr. Sofonio’s office. This is a blatant violation of medical confidentiality and HIPAA protections. When I texted the nurse to express my concern about my private information being shared, her response was erratic and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing, she made comments about Dr. Sofonio’s appearance and told me she only shared my information with “good Christian women.” I never signed a release for my information to be shared—especially not with a dentist I’d never contacted. This breach of trust, alongside the failed treatment and manipulative tactics, makes it impossible for me to recommend this office to anyone. It’s clear they prey on people they think have money to spend and push unnecessary procedures for profit. No patient should ever feel that their privacy was violated, their appearance mocked, or their concerns disregarded. My experience here has left me shaken, frustrated, and disappointed.
