Dr. Lane is such a blessing! She has the best bedside manner and truly cares. She made me feel safe throughout everything with my double masters with autologous repair and my revision surgery. It is so clear that she is where God called her to be! Thank you, Dr. Lane!!

Dr. Menendez and Dr. Knackstedt were kind and skillful with my surgery and post-op care. I cannot recommend a better team to shepherd me through a difficult time.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer and chose to go to Duke Breast Cancer Surgery of Raleigh. The doctors are experienced in treating my kind of cancer and very competent; the staff are competent, caring and very upbeat. I am so glad I chose this clinic as I feel I am in safe hands battling this disease.

I'd give zero stars if I could. I had a doctor appointment there. I was charged $611 for a simple doctor appointment. $356 for a facility charge!! For what? It was a simple office visit! I will not go back.

Set to have DOUBLE MASTECTOMY on 2/7 me; my sister & Carolyn Sue Menendez, MD decided this was best course of treatment. I have a # of pre-existing conditions I was on board w surgery accepting of it but not of Dr. Menendez' firm 23 hour hospitalization policy. Checking w my insurance company I learned I was eligible for up to 20 days of inpatient Skilled Nursing Facility care following surgery no copay. I did all the legwork to facilitate this all that was needed was Dr. Menendez' to get prior approval. SHE REFUSED TO COOPERATE STANDING BY HER 23 HR POLICY. W the help of my sister I found a workaround that would allow Dr. Menendez to do the surgery & me to get the aftercare I needed despite her resistance. Then DR. MENENDEZ CANCELED SURGERY OFFERING ME ONLY LUMPECTOMY + RADIATION. This was a procedure that my sister & I did not feel comfortable w & why we chose MASTECTOMY. At that point I FIRED DR. MENENDEZ & RESCINDED ALL RELEASES. Dr. Menendez IGNORED THIS & spoke to my Primary Care Doctor. In an email Dr. Menendez said that SHE DID NOT THINK MASTECTOMY WAS BEST TREATMENT FOR ME this contradicted a report she wrote a week earlier saying that MASTECTOMY WAS THE BEST TREATMENT. Dr. Menedez tried to explain this by saying I WAS TOO STRESSED OUT BY SURGERY & AFTERCARE the LUMPECTOMY WOULD HAVE LESS RECOVERY etc. THIS IS NOT TRUE! I was RESIGNED TO & ACCEPTING OF THE SURGERY I WASN'T ACCEPTING OF A 23 H hospitalization having Multiple Sclerosis my hands do not function well enough to care for the drains & vacuum. I WASN'T STRESSED OUT BY THE SURGERY & AFTERCARE DR. MENENDEZ STRESSED ME OUT bc I HAD A WORKABLE AFTERCARE PLAN IN PLACE THAT SHE REFUSED TO COOPERATE WITH. For insurance & personal reasons I MUST STAY AT DUKE FOR MY CARE but when I attempted to make an appointment with another BREAST CANCER SURGEON = DR. MENENDEZ TRIED TO PREVENT ME FROM DOING THIS. I had to illicit the help of my primary care doctor & her secretary had to set up an conference call w Breast Cancer Center to get me an appointment. Have an appointment on 1/28. I just hope & pray that Dr. Menendez doesn't stand in the way of this appointment or my treatment. I am letting everyone & anyone know what has happened while Dr. Menendez canceled the surgery & is attempting to prevent me from getting this surgery from Duke Breast Cancer center the tumor continues to grow rapidly. If the cancer spreads or god-forbid kills me I want it on record that DR. MENENDEZ ACTED UNETHICALLY IN CANCELLING MY SURGERY & IS DOING EVERYTHING IN HER POWER TO KEEP ME FROM GETTING THE CARE I NEED AT DUKE.
