I travelled from San Diego to meet Dr Andersen after having visited 8 surgeons, with my 2nd diagnosis of breast cancer. 8 years earlier I’d had a mastectomy on the right side in San Diego, and had never been happy with the outcome and the right side had never felt comfortable around the rib cage. The consultation was about 2 hours long, as Dr. Andersen was very technical and I felt overwhelmed. However, I understood he was passionate about his craft and I appreciated that he took the time to go over the details with me. I had a mastectomy on the left side, and the right side re-done at city of Hope. Then I followed Dr. Andersen to the Huntington Cancer Center to complete my treatment with a nipple reconstruction. Dr. Anderson does excellent and meticulous work. He is also kind and considerate. I do physical therapy in San Diego with a therapist that specializes in breast cancer and she says I have the best mastectomy that she has ever seen. I highly recommend and you will be in good hand with Dr. Andersen.

Dr. Anderson although my first impression wasn't the best when we first met, I can say with 1000% I was wrong! Going with Dr. Anderson was the best decision i made! It may seem as though he isn't listening but boy does he listen! He assisted my Surgeon with a mastectomy and placed my immediate implants then assisted her again a second time to clean out more tissue, he once again replaced my implants. We just had to do a third surgery that was just cosmetic as there is so much a plastic surgeon can do during mastectomy and he definitely is a perfectionist! He really takes care of your needs and looks and his staff go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. Great team of medical professionals! Thank you Dr. Anderson!

Dr Andersen was part of my oncology care team through my breast cancer experience recently! My surgical oncologist Dr Polverini actually recommended a different plastic surgeon who she pairs with in cancer removal. I met that doctor and did not like her at all-she didn’t answer any of my questions and handed me a post-it with her ideas of what she would do for reconstruction! I walked out of that appointment feeling horrible. My good friend recommended Dr Anderson after her reconstruction from breast cancer and I then realized Dr Andersen was actually right in Dr Polverini’s office. I called begging for an appointment with him. Took my friend with me and met with Dr A. He spent hours with me explaining on a monitor how I would look after his reconstruction was done. He was just like my dad, loving, patient, kind teddy bear type person. I was hooked:) He takes his work seriously and is super methodical as a plastic surgeon. I adore him. I was in the best hands. I had a great team of doctors I put together for the cancer journey I was on. Thank you Dr A….

Dr. Anderson was recommended to me 5 years ago. He was not friendly or warm when I met him. He talked me into an experimental surgery that didn't go well followed by another. At the end of our relationship I was having social services come into every visit. All of these years later I am still in constant pain.
