I was seen by Dr. T. Smith for an annual follow up visit post surgery administered by Dr. Carlos Galvani. Dr. Smith took the time to review with me my treatment plan and recovery progress. She gave me good alternative coping skills the challenges I was experiencing. She made sure my overall physical and mental health were good and made referrals to address areas of concern/need. I also visited the Lab during my visit. The lab technicians were great. I had a lot of labs to be taken and the technicians were patient, professional, caring and made sure the process was as painless and less invasive as possible. The staff at UMC; from security, registration, check-in, nurse, doctor, lab technicians..,are respectful, professional and very knowledgeable and genuinely care about their patients. I felt comfortable, respected and well cared for.

This is my first time ever using University Medical Center. I didn't know what to expect. But the experience was spectacular. Even though I was there for a painful procedure the staff was awesome to me and my wife, who stayed with me the whole time. It could have been a lot worse and I still would have given good reviews. The fact is is that every person that we met at the hospital was extraordinarily nice respectful and professional. I only wish that the next time I need to be hospitalized it would be at a place such as University Hospital. The experience was just simply awesome.

Doctor and nurse wry compassionate recovery teams on point with getting you back on your feet receptionist staff friendly and polite my over all experience has been phenomenal! I came through the ER dept. very sick and although the hospital did not have any beds available until after the first day the nurses staff and everyone else were so accommodating and made the temporary stay in ER so comfortable as if I had my own room..and they have heated blankets and wash towels I loved that so much it has inspired me to buy a heated blankets! My overall review be to give everyone I have come into contact with an A++ they passed with flying colors 💜💛🧡💙💜🩵💚🤍❤️❤️‍🩹definitely would recommend this hospital for all your medical needs!!!

University Medical Center New Orleans was one of the worst hospital experiences I’ve ever had. I came in with chest pain and sat in the ER for 5 hours waiting for proper attention. On another visit, my partner was in pain, and it took over 6 hours just to get him into a room or receive pain medication. That is unacceptable. The front desk staff had a trashy, dismissive attitude and acted like patients asking for help were a burden. When people come to an ER, they are scared, sick, and sometimes in serious danger — they should not be met with rudeness, neglect, or endless delays. What stood out most was the way some staff treated patients with indifference and, in my experience, showed bias toward people of different races and religions. No patient should ever feel dismissed or treated unfairly because of who they are. This place carries the name of a hospital, but the level of urgency, compassion, and care we experienced was a disgrace. If you value being treated with dignity when you need medical help, think twice before coming here.

If I had read the reviews before making an appointment here, I might’ve saved myself a trip. I have never before encountered so many rude, uncaring and unhelpful people in one place. I’m writing this review from the parking garage. My doctor referred me to another mammography facility, but this one is closer to my house and my insurance company listed it as a wheelchair accessible facility. I chose it because I wanted to sit down during the procedure due to my easily becoming lightheaded and faint. With this in mind, please note that A. no one I spoke to when making or confirming my appointment could reassure me this would be the case. B. I spent half an hour here and walked over a mile. C. I was sent to three different floors by three different people before ending up in the right place. D. At this time, I was instructed to “go back down to the first floor” to get a different colored wristband than the one I had been issued upon arrival. It was at this time that I decided firmly that even in an emergency and with my dying breath, I would beg to be taken to a different hospital. It seems to me that given the choice, everyone would surely make a different one. I can think of nothing worse than actually being in need of care and encountering the type of “customer service” I received at this facility. EDIT: They managed to shake $3.00 out of me for parking, but with God as my witness, they won’t get another penny if I can help it.
