Terrible experience My mother was a candidate for a clinic trail for her cancer at this facility. We come in for her consultation and right off the bat, the intake nurse was rude and extremely condescending the entire time when gathering information from my mother. The first doctor sent in was basically there to do a fluff show on us. She was very nice and sweet but basically told us the spot reserved for my mother had been filled. Dr. Patel came in afterwards and she gave my mother information that did not aligned with her primary cancer doctor in Louisville. There are more details but too much to write about. Just a waste of time and bad experience all around with lack of professionalism under Dr. Patel staff.

If I could give zero stars I would. The staff is rude they overbook. The cherry on top is having nurse practitioners that run the place that they have never treated any patients lwith my condition… that’s not the method to make me trust you. Then they made me fight to get preventative chemo because they don’t think it helps so I had to go to the va. No emotional support anywhere. Run away

"No one dies at Disneyland"; that is the only explanation I can come up with for what I feel was the gross dereliction of care that my grandmother received in her last year. She received surgery and chemotherapy for bladder cancer at Markey. She had unbearable side effects from the chemotherapy that came in advance of the surgery and asked if she could stop treatment. They obliged her while giving her what seemed to me as minimal information as to the risks of that decision. She went two or three months with cancer receiving no treatment. She had surgery in May and afterward she experienced intense back pain and difficulty urinating. When she brought this up with the doctors at Markey they seemed to me to be dismissive: e.g. 'probably dehydrated, here's an IV'. They said, optimistically, that they would see her in September for her follow-up. When she was finally fed up with what she perceived as the lack of being taken seriously she went elsewhere much less prestigious where she received wonderful attention. The very first tests there revealed badly metastasized cancer. Markey had said "see you in September"; she died in July. I'm not suggesting that going elsewhere would have significantly changed her outcomes, but I do feel she could have at least been treated more like a human being during those awful months.
