UNLV Health Plastic Surgery Clinic

I’m not sure why this place only has 3.9 stars because they should have 10 stars! My only complaint which is with every doctors office in the city is that I waited an hour and a half to see the doctor but let me just tell you it was the best hour and a half I could have ever waited. Dr. Rob was nothing short of amazing, they have their own x-ray machine right there. It took him about 10 seconds to get images of my fracture to make sure that it was not displaced. As soon as I was casted properly, I immediately started to feel better. Not only was I casted to perfection but the recommendations are just top notch. I can’t wait to come back in four weeks and get my cast off. Thank you so much Dr. Rob and your staff.

As a military veteran I am extremely disappointed in the doctors and associates at this location that service veterans through the community care program. As a combat veteran, I was approved for community care to UNLV Health with Dr. A.P. and her staff, for carpel tunnel surgery. However, on my second to last visit, the nurse and doctor pulled a fast one and brought out an invoice for $1100. This $1100 was never discussed or brought up before, and read $1,100, "carpel tunnel device", and a final line referencing a total payable amount stating #VALUE!, not an actual number. I was told that it was required that I sign this sheet otherwise they could not/would not go through with my carpel tunnel surgery. They went through this string of lies stating that at times, in "very, very rare instances", the VA may not cover certain items or portions of the procedure, but that it was "super rare" and almost "never happens" and I shouldn't worry at all it's just a formality, but they needed me to sign it none the less just in case for liability reasons. Again, I was reassured and told not to worry as the VA would cover everything. Reluctantly, I signed not knowing better and trusting them. Looking back I was essentially blackmailed into signing, othwise they would not go through with the surgery I needed. Surgery went well. Fast forward a few months and I receive a bill from UNLV Health, in the amount of $1100 dollars. Puzzled, I emailed my VA community care liason and she said they would handle it. Fast forward another month and a half or so, thinking it was long resolved, another bill shows up, $1100 due. I called the VA again, and after finally getting to someone who handles billing, I waited on hold while they called UNLV Health to get resolution because as they stated, i had no obligation to pay anything, my care and everything involved was approved and being paid for by the VA. When she came back on the line, she reluctantly told me that there is nothing they can do to help because I signed a piece of paper stating I would pay for whatever the VA didn't cover. That essentially held me liable for the balance. Had I not signed, I would have had zero obligation to pay them, but again, I was threatened that the surgery could not and would not go through without me signing. Come to find out, that $1100 was for the 2 wrist braces I was given post survey, ie carpel tunnel devices. The billing lady literally told me that it looks like UNLV found a sneaky loophole workaround to charge veterans for things that UNLV couldn't bill the VA for. Essentially UNLV Health and Dr. A. P. tricked me, took advantage, and fear mongered me into signing. They repeated numerous times how theyve never has issues, it's a precautionary measure, blah, blah. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. To take advantage of veterans, the VA system, and to trick people in this way is disgusting. Dr. A.P and UNLV Health were complicit in a process that I found to be extremely deceptive. A process that takes advantage of veterans for their own financial gain under the guise and false pretense of "helping" and protecting themselves via threatening to "not go through with the surgery" if the veteran does not sign. Extremely deceptive and disappointing to say the least. No one to blame but myself for signing that paper, but please, to all my veterans out there looking for help thru community care, watch out. Do not go here, do not trust them, they will lie and you will literally pay the price. I will be filing a complaint with the VA and other agencies regarding UNLV Health as part of the VA community care network facilities to try and get them removed. They do not deserve to be "helping" veterans. Be warned.

I am being discriminated against by the staff at UNLV plastic surgery. I missed my appointment back in July and they refuse to schedule me with a different dr, just the same one who won't have another opening until "probably next year" the receptionist employees say. They are rude, yell at me, talk down to me, verbally assault me. I have a shattered nose and they are unwilling to provide me with proper care due to a grudge they are holding about a missed appointment. I called that day and told them I wasn't coming. I wasn't aware they rescheduled me for the next day so I didn't show up. They are unprofessional and all sound like teenagers who have no idea what they are doing

If you’re looking for the place you’ll get proper care and treatment please look further than UNLV plastic surgery. I broke my nose and was referred here, I was told by the receptionist the swelling in my nose would need to go down before I could be seen almost two weeks later I come in the for my appt and the first thing out of the doctors mouth was “why are you here?” Follow by “you would’ve needed to come in the week you broke your nose to be able to get treatment”…. What do you mean I can’t receive treatment? I was told by YOUR STAFF TO WAIT! I get referred for a CT scan and I’m then called a week after the CT scan is done and told my “nose isn’t broken” and the I “can come back in a year for a nose job if I’m still unhappy” I went to an ENT today for a second opinion because I just knew something wasn’t right and was told by the doctor my nose is/ was in fact broken and not only that but my septum is deviated so badly deviated in fact that the air way/opening in my nose is basically nonexistent and my septum is in an S shape. But I wasn’t told any of this over the phone by the doctor just that I can come back in a year for a nose job. Clearly all they care about is the money. To this doctor I’m sure you know who you are, you’re an awful person. Please use my story as a lesson and steer clear of this place. No caring or compassion happening here.

This is ridiculous institution. There are absolutely no real risk for someone to have top surgery with a higher bmi. There is absolutely no study proveing that a bmi over 35 is at risk for extreme issues and should not be of any reason to refuse me as a patient. The doctors have been rude and nasty about these issues. If you are looking for top surgery please do not go here.
