He genuinely loves what he does, whether that is surgery, patient care, or teaching medical students. With six board certifications under his belt (Yes, really. Six. Most doctors only have one or two), his depth of knowledge is in a league of its own. I learned more under his tutelage than I could have from any textbook, especially when it came to cosmetic surgery, facial plastic surgery, ENT, sleep medicine, anesthesia, and surgical safety overall; he knows how to take excellent care of patients. Dr. Troell’s background speaks for itself: Stanford training, academic teaching roles, international surgical education and outreach, and an extensive publication history (more publications than years I've been alive). He has taught and practiced across the globe, including in Kenya and Mexico, which gives him a uniquely broad and practical perspective on surgical care that would be hard to find elsewhere. And of course, his staff-- Amy and Angela are fantastic and integral parts of the team. They are warm, professional, and make the clinic feel welcoming and comfortable from start to finish!
