Dr. Higa did my laparoscopic cholecystectomy yesterday and is amazing!! Very humble, caring, and professional. There’s a reason why his waitlist is longer because he’s the best! Makes surgery not scary at all! I’m 1 day post op and already have minimal pain. Feeling better already. I enjoyed ALSA so much. 10/10 would recommend.

Usually good. Some of the assistants can be rude. They had canceled my appointment i had prior and tried to change it with someone else. Im only comfortable withy bariatric doctor. I think its not fair they cancle an appointment you had and dont tell you about it. I told the lady on the phone qnd her exact words were "sometimes it happens". It dont just happen a pateint should be informed prior to a cancelation. I have to make a complaint about Nicole Townsend. She was very disrespectful and rude. Told me I'd gain my weight back. I'm sorry but you don't tell a patient that at all especially as a professional "PA" disrespectful and rude. This is the 2nd person that has been rude to me while being here. I love my bariatric doctor and her team they are very loving caring nice understanding and professional.

I had a wonderful Doctor Dr Boone. The staff they have are just awful tho I have had the worst support from the place since I’ve had surgery. Feel like they do the surgery and just don’t bother with you after or help with after care. Really wish I would have went through another place that offers better after care to there patients. I went from 328 down to 170 and have maintained for almost two years yet I still have problems that occur and no support from ALSA once of ever. Before you go here find another place that care for the patients and there after care.

This is a terrible place to go to. They can careless about the patients and lie to you. I was referred by my Gastro doctor to see Dr. Higa, when I had my first consultation a young male shook my hand and introduced himself as Dr. Higa, and come to find out later it was not the Doctor at all. It was a follower of Dr. Higa's, not only was it not the doctor; this follower was rude and had a cocky attitude . I was then given a follow up appt that I was unaware of until I went onto my chart. The follow up appt was by phone for my test results ordered by the follower of Dr. Higas. I called them to change the phone appt to a come in the office visit with Dr. Higa. I was then sent to a voice mail to change the appt. I left a message and never heard back from anyone. I am not having surgery done by a doctor that I have never met. When i canceled my appt they never ask if I wanted to reschedule or why I was canceling. This is a awful facility and I do not recommend it to anyone

A few years ago I had gastric bypass done. Didn’t like Dr Klar much at the time and recently needed my gallbladder out. This should be done for all bariatric patients at the time of initial procedure. You will have problems later. Lots of staffing changes and totally incompetent staff. No compassion or empathy for patients. For years they cancelled patients surgeries because of their greed with insurance problems. Horrible!
