Greetings, I just wanna share my gratitude with everyone about my visit today. When I arrived today I met my surgeon Kiera whom was awesome. About an hour later I met Dan in (Valet) he was ready to serve patients(service with a smile). He went and got me a wheel chair, took me inside out of the cold, and Carol was customer focus and transported me to the CT area. There I met Karen ready to give me excellent services as well. About 5 minutes later Damian came out greeted me and we was off to CT to scan my broken ankle. Finally I was met by Bri and her coworker(I missed getting his name) but he was excellent as well. Over all a great experience. Have a blessed day.

I just want to take a moment to thank all the incredible staff at Elmhurst Hospital. The care and attention they showed my family meant more than I can put into words. In moments when things felt overwhelming, their kindness, patience, and genuine concern really stood out. It wasn’t just about doing their job—they made us feel supported, heard, and cared for every step of the way. We’ll always remember that.

I went to the immediate care/clinic in Lombard for the flu in December. I received a bill that was more than my standard co-pay. When I called billing I was told that the immediate care is billed under the umbrella of the hospital and not an immediate care. I informed the customer rep that it’s deceiving for the organization to call it an immediate care and that I’m sure I was not the first person who thought she was going to a immediate care with the standard co-pay. She said it was my responsibility to know where I am going. Secondly, when I spoke with my insurance the day before, they were unable to help me bc they did not have a record of the “claim” from the visit and I informed the representative of what was said. She told me that I needed to call my insurance back and have them call the billing department. The service I received was very good from the healthcare provider and their support team but the billing department definitely needs some work.

This is a difficult review to write. Because the truth is… 👉 90% of my experience was exceptional. From the moment I walked in at 5:45 AM, I was welcomed with warmth, guided professionally, and cared for by some truly outstanding individuals. The pre-op and surgical teams were not just good—they were remarkable. If my experience had ended there, this would have easily been a 5 or even 6-star review. But unfortunately… 👉 The last 10 minutes changed everything. ⸻ ⚠️ The Problem – Recovery & Discharge Immediately after surgery, while still under the effects of anesthesia, I was: • Asked to sit up quickly • Then instructed to stand • Then told to walk—unassisted At that moment: • I was dizzy • My leg was in pain • I felt unstable Yet there was no physical support, no reassurance, and no situational awareness. When I asked for help or basic equipment (walker/crutches), the response was: “Doctor said you’re fine.” I was also told to walk to the restroom “around the corner” on my own— which, frankly, felt unsafe. ⸻ 🚫 Communication Breakdown I asked to briefly speak with the doctor before discharge. I was told: • No, he’s busy • Check MyChart There was nothing in MyChart at that time. ⸻ 🩼 Safety Concern When I was finally given crutches: • They were not adjusted to my height • No instructions were provided • I nearly fell trying to use them This could have been avoided with one simple sentence or 10 seconds of attention. ⸻ 🎯 Why 2 Stars? I am giving 2 stars—not out of anger— 👉 but because I feel it would be unfair to the many excellent professionals I encountered earlier in the day to give a 1-star review. However, I cannot ignore what happened at discharge. ⸻ 💡 Final Thought This is not a bad hospital. In fact, it has excellent people and strong culture. But somewhere between surgery and discharge: 👉 the experience broke I was in process of checking out or being discharged at 03-24-2026 10:15. May be Hospital wants to see cc footage recovery room 7 and the hallway. Before actually ignoring it. And in healthcare—as in any service industry— “The last interaction becomes the lasting impression.” ⸻ 🙏 Closing I genuinely hope this feedback is taken seriously. Because if the final phase of care is aligned with the level of excellence shown earlier… 👉 this organization can truly be outstanding.

If I could give this hospital 0 starts, I absolutely would. I’ve always been on the fence about this hospital being from the city and having such great experiences at Northwestern or Rush. However, my mom ended up needing surgery and aftercare here for a bit, before moving to a rehab center. While I came across only a handful of people who were kind, I learned very quickly how terrible and horribly run this hospital is, along with their staff. More than once, my mother’s room phone was disconnected purposely and her personal cell phone placed far away from her as she was unable to get up and walk on her own. Making it difficult to contact her. They would not make sure she ate or that she was aware she even had food brought up (she is blind, unable to walk after surgery, and not always of sound mind as she suffers from severe confusion often). There was so much miscommunication between doctors, nurses, and other people on her care team. They started her on new medication without consulting our family as my mother is not capable of making those decisions on her own. For the icing on the cake - we found out after she was moved to rehab, (an excellent place we are so very grateful for) that she had bed sores. She has never had bed sores before being admitted to Endeavor Health Elmhurst. She developed them because as we imagined they left my mother, OFTEN, alone in the dark, barely being checked upon or moved. I would never everrrr recommend this hospital and I very much hope they make some well needed changes. Disgusting. Please do not pick a career that you do not take seriously in all circumstances.
