Roxana Rivera, M.D.

My eyelids began to droop last summer. I decided that, if they got any worse, I would be unable to see to drive properly. I made an appointment with the Cincinnati Eye Institute's Oculofacial Platic Surgeon, Roxana Y. Rivera, M.D. to ask her to guide me in a treatment that might help me. I found Dr. Rivera to be extremely intelligent, kind, and wonderful in her way of explaining what I could do going forward to correct the eyelids. I had a brow lift, and the results were even greater than I expected. I followed Dr. Rivera's instructions exactly, and as a result I had no pain, no swelling, and beautiful stitching on my forehead. I am really so, so happy with the results. The day after surgery I was able to drive again without worrying about having limited vision. All in all I had a really pleasant experience from start to finish. I am very grateful that I was able to have my surgery performed by Dr. Rivera, she was wonderful in every way.

Had surgery last week with Dr.Rivera. She is amazing as well as her entire staff. Dr. Rivers is so professional, confident, and caring. She made me feel so comfortable about my procedure before and after. Dr. Rivera had my undoubtable trust the moment that I met her. I might add that the results are amazing! Ron Rieger

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Rivera and her staff. I had a blepharoplasty and ptosis repair. I can’t believe the difference. Dr. Rivera does excellent work, I highly recommend her for your eye surgery needs. Not sure if I want to post pictures but trust me you won’t be disappointed . If I need any other eye procedures, I am going to her.

Dr. Rivera did a wonderful job. I had both eyelids lifted. My vision has improved & I look like I’m more awake. I’m very pleased with the results!

We had such high hopes for this surgeon, Dr Roxana Rivera. She came highly recommended by an opthalmologist in the same office. We have been trying to get my daughter help for a blocked tear duct that turned into an abscess. She was rude from the moment she walked in, did not introduce herself, did not listen to the answers we provided that she asked. We told her explicitly that our daughters eye was finally not in pain and still highly sensitive from acute dacrocyctitis. It had been feeling better for only 3 days after an aggressive round of antibiotics for the abscess in her tearduct, during which time the whole left side of her face was in excruciating pain due to the swelling and to please be gentle. She said nothing and continued looking at my daughters eye. She was going to try to irrigate her tear duct, which we said was fine. She put in numbing drops and didn't even wait 60 seconds for them to take effect. She then without warning us, used another tool (that the girl she was teaching, who she did not even ask us if it was alright if she was present, handed to Dr Rivera ungloved!) to stretch my child's tear duct open, my daughter yelled please stop and she just kept going, so her father and I said stop! Dr.Rivera got visibly angry & and somehow even more rude. She said that this procedure does not hurt and that was not an appropriate reaction and maybe we should think about having my daughter talk to someone about anxiety! Her tear duct was bleeding and she was telling her no it doesn't hurt! My child has a high pain tolerance and she was in tears and treated so poorly because she had a natural reaction. Dr. Rivera has the bedside manner of a rock. Think twice before taking your child to such an uncaring individual. She will not listen to you or the patient, she will also outright lie in her after visit notes. We were then dismissed from their care, not that we would have even considered going back. Very disappointing experience from Cincinnati children's.
