Facelift Review – Dr. Stern Going into this process, I made a commitment to consult with three plastic surgeons—one in the Tacoma area and two highly regarded surgeons in Bellevue, including Dr. Stern, who has over 25 years of experience. While each consultation had its pros and cons, after meeting with Julie and Dr. Stern, I left feeling confident he was the right surgeon for me. I’m a 56-year-old female with typical concerns—jowls, heavy brows, and a need for a lower blepharoplasty. Dr. Stern performed an S-Lift (SMAS), a brow lift, and a lower bleph. The results are incredibly natural—I look exactly like myself, just refreshed. There’s a lot of noise around facelifts right now, especially the “deep plane” trend, and I wasn’t convinced it was right for me. You hear about it everywhere—on social media and from surgeons who market it as the gold standard. My takeaway after doing my research is this: SMAS vs. deep plane matters less than the surgeon. Experience matters. Results matter. The outcome matters. I addition, I truly underestimated how much of a difference the brow lift would make. My eyes were my top priority going into this, and the outcome exceeded my expectations. This is something he recommended over an upper bleph and I and SO happy I decided to take his expert advice. Julie, Dr. Stern’s assistant, is genuinely one of the kindest people you’ll meet. She made me feel comfortable from the initial consult, through pre-op, surgery day, and beyond. CJ, the post-op nurse, has been just as wonderful—always available, responsive, and supportive. The entire office is welcoming, warm, and calming. I have a friend that is a client of Dr. Stern's, who looks fantastic. She's had a little work done by him over the years and it doesn't look "overdone". She looks terrific! Dr. Stern did a blepharoplasty under my eyes (as well as laser tightening) in 2012 and that was 12 years ago. He is an absolute magician! He removed the bags and made me look like I wasn't so tired all the time. Highly recommended. I cannot believe how quickly I bounced back (with pain that only felt like a mild sunburn) in 4 weeks and no one knew what I had done but told me I looked well-rested. I’ve been going to Dr Stern for the past 20 yrs. I’ve had several laser resurfacing treatments, fat transfer filler in my cheeks. I’ve tried the fillers but with the results from the resurfacing treatments, the fillers weren’t necessary. The results I received from all of my treatments were very pleasing. I’m about to book another at 63. You have got to do your homework and trust your doctor. Dr Stern is as good as it gets, absolutely nothing to worry about.
