I had my surgery and wellness checkups in October, and I found the doctors and staff to be patient and very nice. They are genuinely doing their best to help with any issues you might have. I would like to especially appreciate Mehmet Emin, the energetic and passionate translator. I had today my annual periodic medical checkup at Koru Hospital Ankara, and I’d like to thank M.Pelin Koç, the interpreter who assisted me. She was amazing — very kind, patient, and professional. M.Pelin made the whole process so much easier, very fast and efficient by clearly explaining everything and helping me communicate smoothly with the doctors and nurses. I recently visited Koru Private Hospital for a dental procedure (a single tooth filling). At first, I was presented with a bill of 30,000 TL for this treatment. After considerable discussion and effort—including with the dentist involved, who appeared to recognise the charge as unusually high—the amount was eventually reduced to 7,500 TL. Even at the reduced rate, this cost seemed significantly higher than what I have encountered or researched at other private hospitals in Ankara for comparable procedures. When I asked for clarification about the pricing policy, I did not receive a clear explanation. From what I understood, the main justification given for the higher charge was my status as a foreigner, despite the fact that I am legally employed by the Turkish state, hold a valid work and residence permit, and contribute to SGK. I share this experience so that other expatriates and international residents are aware and can make informed decisions. In my case, the lack of transparency around pricing and the apparent inconsistency with standard rates left me dissatisfied.
