My recent experince (23 December 2025) was absolutely shocking. During routine pre-operative checkups, despite me being over 40 years old and stating that I suffer from allergic asthma, a chest X-ray and a routine anesthesia check (ECG) were not ordered. After leaving the hospital, we spent days trying to obtain travel permits and a medical report. We couldn't find anyone to speak to, and when we did, we couldn't get anything done. They hospital was more like an office where we couldn't find anyone to speak to our of "working hours". On the day of my surgery, for a full nine hours, no one came to check my blood pressure or my temperature which are standard, mandatory procedures. Nurses Buse and Büşra, who were on that shift, didn't come to change my dressings or check my blood pressure and temperature. Ice packs, which were essential for my surgery, weren't provided during the critical first two hours or after which caused bruising. We were told the ice machine was broken throughout the day, which is unacceptable for patients who require icing straight after and for the next 24 hours following theor durgeries, so it was regularly neglected. I realise these technical issues occur however it is the hospital's responsibility to problem solve and provide the needs of the patient. My caregiver had to leave me alone in order to provide ice from nearby cafes. The room floor was dirty (clearly had not been cleaned between patients). Food trays remained in the room until the next meal time (eg. lunch trays were left in the room until dinner was served). However, Nurse Mehmet, who was on the second shift, came to check my blood pressure twice, even though my stay only coincided with two hours of his shift. Only Nurse Mehmet came to provide the minimum care expected. He was polite, caring and professional. Unfortunately, the two nurses mentioned above were careless, unprofessional and did not fulfill their duties during my stay in the hospital. I am utterly disappointed with my stay at Memorial Ankara and do not recommend their services.

My experience at Memorial Ankara Hospital was deeply disappointing, and I would not rate it one star if a lower rating were possible. We arrived at the emergency department due to numbness on the right side of the body-a symptom that can indicate a stroke and requires urgent attention. The only part of the process that was handled efficiently was the billing: we were charged TL 4,900 almost immediately. However, after payment, the quality of care and urgency sharply declined. Shockingly, we were told that the hospital does not have an emergency code for stroke cases involving foreign patients. When we expressed concern, staff backtracked and said it was a misunderstanding, referring us to the Neurology department instead. In Neurology, the payment process was again prioritized, though slightly less efficient than in the emergency room-perhaps because the receptionist was preoccupied with her phone. Only after payment of another TL 6900 did we learn that the neurologist would not see us until her existing patients were finished, which would take another hour and a half. Despite coming from the emergency room with a potential stroke, we were told that our risk did not constitute an emergency according to their neurologist. The receptionist appeared frustrated that the emergency department had not communicated that Neurologist will not handle our situation as an emergency, and she made it clear that we would have to wait. There was a lack of empathy and urgency throughout the process, which is alarming for a hospital that claims to be internationally accredited and focused on patient experience. When we requested a refund, the process was even slower and less professional. Only the manager could authorize a refund, and she, too, appeared distracted and unhurried, focused more on her phone than on assisting us. After wasting a valuable hour with absolutely no medical care, we left the hospital paying another TL 200 for vale parking. Despite Memorial Ankara Hospital’s claims of international quality standards and patient-centered care, our experience was the opposite. The focus seemed to be on collecting fees rather than providing timely medical attention, especially for foreign patients in urgent situations. Communication was poor, and staff showed little urgency or compassion. I would not recommend Memorial Hospital based on this experience

On the phone I clearly mentioned what I need and they told price for it. When I came they charged 4 times more. Doctor said they will call to inform about tests results. But they didn't. And I was positive. If I didn't call I wouldn't even know. During appointment doctor was talking a lot. But not important stuffs. And when I really needed information from her about my positiive results and next steps she didn't reply to my email and to my call. I visited dr. Figen Beşyaprak.

According to what the most of the foreigners experiencing it is the same delinquent treatment which my son experience elsewhere in Ankara. Despite regulations against discrimination in Turkeye, foreigners often face ugly treatments
