I recently travelled to Prague for cataract surgery at Sandonia and I couldn’t be happier with the care I received. From the very first contact I was impressed by the organisation and attention to detail. My medical consultant, Peter, kept me informed throughout the pre-screening process over the six weeks before my trip: I completed a health questionnaire and sent my eye prescription so the surgeon could confirm I was a suitable candidate. That pre-screening gave me real peace of mind — there was no risk of arriving in Prague only to be told the operation couldn’t go ahead. Travel logistics were smooth — I flew into Vaclav Havel Airport and stayed in the hotel Sandonia recommended, which was excellent value and very convenient. On arrival I had bloods taken and an impressively thorough pre-op assessment that lasted half a day. The team performed ECG, blood pressure and a full medical review; by the end I’d been told I was fit for the procedure under local anaesthesia. My eye surgeon, Dr. Vermach, recommended Alcon Clareon trifocal lenses and I’m delighted I followed that advice. The operations were carried out on consecutive days (one eye each day). The surgery itself only took a few minutes per eye; the longer part is the careful preparation — the nurses administered local anaesthetic drops and ensured I was comfortable. I felt no pain at all during either procedure. Recovery was straightforward. After each operation one eye was patched, which still allowed me to get around for light walks in the city (I mostly rested at the hotel as advised). The morning I removed the patch I could see brilliantly — it was genuinely emotional to notice such a clear improvement so quickly. I have no troublesome halos or glares and no side effects to report; after many years I no longer need glasses. There was a post-op check on Friday and the surgeon confirmed everything was healing perfectly, and I flew home the same afternoon. Compared with prices in the UK, the overall cost (including travel and accommodation) was a fraction of what I would have paid at home, yet the quality of care felt equal to or better than NHS/private clinics in the UK. If you are considering eye surgery, I wholeheartedly recommend Sandonia. Professional, organised and compassionate — a truly life-changing outcome.

Travelled to prague on the 11th of January 2026, for lens replacement surgery. From first booking, to having my eyes done was so smooth. Nothing was to much trouble. And the clinic was spotless. Only downside is the hotel the company recommend. It was quite far away from the clininc. I would do my research and find a hotel in prague 1. The interpreter marketa was lovely, and very helpful. I would 100% recommend sandonia.

Sandonia was a brilliant choice. I had lens replacement surgery in December 2025 and the whole trip to Prague was perfectly organised transfers, appointments, everything. The clinic was spotless and kitted out with the latest kit. I had top quality intraocular lenses and by the next day my vision was amazing. I’ll never need glasses again. Thank you, Sandonia genuinely life changing. Highly recommended.

I’d recommend Sandonia for lens replacement surgery without hesitation. I only wish I’d done it sooner. Because of my astigmatism I was advised to have toric lenses Sandonia use premium Alcon Clareon lenses, which are among the best. The pre op checks were extremely thorough, with several doctors reviewing my case before the surgery. The operation itself was painless and perfectly organised. I arrived Sunday evening and flew home from Václav Havel Airport the following Friday lunchtime. The final price matched the estimate and Prague is a lovely city people are friendly, professional and speak English. Highly recommend.

I had cataract surgery through Sandonia and everything went smoothly. Remote communication was clear and incredibly quick, and the final price matched the estimate exactly. The clinic staff were friendly and very professional. No pain at all one eye took about ten minutes. Prague is definitely one of the best places for cataract treatment, and Sandonia was an excellent choice.
